We offer a comprehensive training programme
to all employees including formal training courses,
a mentoring scheme and access to a variety of
training materials, supported by day to day informal
training within your team.
Individual training plans are tailored to graduates
specific needs, depending on their role within
Fidessa. Typically a graduate
can expect to spend their first six weeks with
us following their training plan as well as spending
some time with their new team.
This initial training will cover soft skills and
technical courses, including an Induction Day,
an Introduction to Financial and Equity Markets
and Improved Personal Effectiveness. We run a
large number of in house Fidessa technical courses
and those relevant will be scheduled into the
tailored programme. To access a full list of our
Fidessa courses, please click
here.
Once the initial training programme is completed
relevant advanced Fidessa courses, and soft skills
training courses will be identified during informal
meetings with your manager, or at your annual
performance appraisal.
The company’s appraisal system sets out
core competencies, with descriptions of expected
behaviour across a number of levels. This is used
as a tool to develop your personal training plan
and to identify career progression opportunities.
Buddy and Mentoring
Schemes
All new starters are offered a buddy for the first
few weeks to help them settle into working at
Fidessa. Your buddy will typically
be someone from your team who can help you with
practical things like finding your way around
and where to buy the best sandwiches!
Additionally, graduates are offered a mentoring
scheme. A mentor would normally be assigned after
six months, and would typically be someone from
a different area of the business, rather than
your own team or department. Their role is to
support you and help you with career planning,
as well as being able to help in expanding your
knowledge of the organisation.
